WE CAN HELP! For almost 30 years, Family Voices has been empowering families to be the best possible advocates and system navigators for their children.
Family Voices invites community partners including schools, counties, local agencies, parent groups and others to host one of our virtual learning sessions. Our sessions can be scheduled in the day, the evening, or Saturday morning.

Early Choices Matter

For children with disabilities, practicing choice-making is especially important to build confidence, develop community connections, a sense of safety, and understand that their opinions matter. Explore ways to include choice-making practice as part of your daily routine.

Medicaid Made Easy

Explore how Medicaid works for children with disabilities. This session covers the doorways to access Medicaid, including the different eligibility requirements. Learn about covered benefits and services in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
Speak Up
Designed for families who are new to navigating disability-related services and supports, explore how to build confidence and find your voice as you advocate for your child in healthcare, school, or community settings. Develop a strong foundation for future advocacy and leadership opportunities.
Thinking about Supported Decision-Making
Supported decision-making is an alternative to guardianship empowering the individual to make decisions while accessing support to navigate the decision-making process. We explore what this could look like along with other legal tools for adults, including guardianship. This session is helpful for families of children ages 14 and older, and the professionals working alongside them.
What's After High School?

Preview the transition to adult life for youth with disabilities and special health care needs. This session covers the role of schools, adult long-term support programs, public benefits, health care, guardianship and other legal options, advocacy, employment, housing, and community living. We will also explore the foundations for living a meaningful adult life.
Your Voice Matters
You already use your voice to advocate for your child โ expand that impact by becoming an advocate in your community to shape programs and services that support all children. Explore ways families can make a difference including mentoring other parents, serving on advisory groups, and connecting with policymakers.
