Summer has arrived and we all feel like bears coming out of hibernation. Our kids are finishing up their online school year and we’re wondering what the next few months will be like for our families. It’s true that we’re not under quarantine, but we need to think about COVID-19 because it’s still active.
We can’t retreat to our quarantine caves! We need to move forward into our New Normal. If your child has a special health care need, you may feel that you have to be extra cautious. Family Voices gets it! We know that your children are kids first and they need to have some fun. So we wrote our Summer Newsletter with the new normal in mind. We’ve filled it with information and ideas to make this summer one to remember—for all the right reasons. We also included an insert with tips to keep everyone healthy if you have direct care workers in your home, and a guide to help your child wear a mask when it’s time to leave the house.
You’re also invited to join a Zoom meeting with other families for a special, Saner at Home this Summer, conversation on Wednesday evening, June 10 from 7-8 pm. It’s hosted by Family Voices of Wisconsin and the Regional Centers for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs. You’ll get lots of resources and the opportunity to talk to other families in small-group sessions. The link’s below and we hope to see you Tuesday!
